Coronation of Poppea
No human nor divine heart shall defy Cupid.
Celebrating 450 years since the birth of Monteverdi, Pinchgut Opera proudly presents one of the greatest operas of all time, Coronation of Poppea.
Coronation of Poppea charts the consuming erotic obsession of the Emperor Nero for the beautiful Poppea Sabina. Ruthlessly sweeping aside anyone who stands in the way of their union – including Nero’s wife Octavia and the poet and philosopher Seneca – Nero and Poppea triumph over all their opponents and rejoice in one of the most sensuous and exquisitely beautiful duets, “Pur ti miro”.
Composer: Claudio Monteverdi
Company: Pinchgut Opera

The Tea Rooms – QVB
The Tea Room QVB, a Grand Pacific Group venue, began in 1997 by Founder/CEO Manuel Spinola. Today The Tea Room has evolved into one of Sydney’s most beautiful dining establishments.
Located in what was once the original Grand Ballroom of the landmark Queen Victoria Building, The Tea Room epitomises style and quality. An interior refresh in 2014 has introduced custom designed Baccarat crystal chandeliers to celebrate the ballroom’s beautiful Victorian ceiling.
Traditional morning and afternoon tea is offered daily along with a weekday a la carte lunch service. The Tea Room is available for exclusive events from breakfast through to dinner. Wedding receptions are truly exquisite in this historic space.
